How to Apply?
Please click on the button below to make an application for help with free school meals and school uniform:

Why Apply for Free School Meals?
By registering your child/children, as well as receiving free school meals, the school also receives additional funding that will be used to help your child/children to achieve the best possible progress.

My Child/Children do not use the school canteen, should I still apply?
Yes. Your child/children will be able to access other support across the curriculum.

My Child/Children do not meet the criteria for Pupil Premium; will we still be able to access support?
We are committed to monitoring the progress of all our learners so, whether learners meet the criteria or not, no learner will ever be left to fall behind; they will receive additional support to improve their performance.

What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is funding that the school receives for learners who are either:

  • in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM);
  • have previously been registered for FSM at any point in the last six years (Ever6);
  • have been looked after for one day or more or have left care under either a special guardianship or residence order (LAC);
  • known to have been adopted;
  • have a parent who is serving in the armed forces.

Ladybridge High School is determined to make sure that this money is spent on the designated children to best support their future progress. In order to do so, we provide support in four different areas.

To be the best they can be, learners have to have excellent attendance and be emotionally ready to learn. The Wellbeing Team has been setup to encourage learners to take care of their physical and mental wellbeing.
‘I have had new opportunities and visited different universities.’ Year 10 learner.

Welfare

We recognise that school equipment or a uniform can be a financial burden. Please contact school for information about possible support that is available.

Teaching Priorities For Current Academic Year

Our approach is rooted in evidence-informed practice and interventions not assumptions about disadvantage. The strategies we have adopted are complementary and designed to ensure that all learners know more, remember more, and can do more over time. To achieve this, we will:

  • Ensure under-resourced learners are consistently challenged and supported through high-quality teaching
  • Ensure all learners receive clear feedback and know how to improve their work
  • Intervene promptly when learning gaps are identified
  • Expect all staff to take collective responsibility for under-resourced learners’ outcomes and to have high expectations of what they can achieve
  • Ensure all learners have access to high-quality careers guidance at every stage, raising aspirations and supporting next steps.

Through our cycle of whole-school and faculty self-evaluation and quality assurance, we will maintain a sharp focus on the progress of under-resourced learners and on reducing any gaps between them and their peers.
