Our values and ethos connect with our core beliefs and the WISDOM qualities that we seek to develop in our learners. Our WISDOM qualities, and our core beliefs, are shown on the Ladybridge Way graphic:

The information below explores our values and ethos in relation to each of our core beliefs:
Learning is for all
Ladybridge has incredible diversity. This diversity is to be celebrated, not just tolerated. We are an inclusive school that works incredibly hard to provide a curriculum offer that meets the varying needs of our learners. At the heart of our school ethos is a deep sense of compassion for our learners and a commitment to prepare them for a good life. We want to make learning and working at Ladybridge as enjoyable and rewarding as possible, both for staff and for learners. Our staff are committed to their professional learning and recognise that we are all working in partnership with parents and carers, as a community, to prepare learners for life.
Learning changes lives
We must remember that what we do makes a difference. The route that young people take in life is shaped by their experiences at school. The job we do is important and really does change lives. As staff and learners we face challenges and adversity in so many ways. The greater the challenge, the more rewarding it is to taste success. At Ladybridge we try to normalise challenge, uncertainty and struggle to develop our learners’ resilience.
Honesty promotes learning
At Ladybridge it is OK to make mistakes. It’s vital that we have the honesty and courage to admit mistakes and take responsibility; this enables us to learn and grow. We aim to create a learning culture that reduces the fear of failure. At Ladybridge we treat others as we wish to be treated. Honest and respectful feedback to one another helps us to learn. As leaders we show integrity by making ethical decisions that are in the best interests of young people. We don’t play games and we don’t cut corners. We focus on moral, ethical decision making and long term improvement.
