We are delighted with our 2026 GCSE results, which demonstrate outstanding academic progress. The progress score of +0.64 means that on average learners achieved two thirds of a grade higher across all of their subjects than you would expect them to based on their academic starting points. Below you will find a summary of our results over the last three years, which demonstrates improvements across all areas in 2026.
In addition to this excellent progress, we again celebrated a large number of learners receiving Grade 9s and Distinction Star (D\*) in their qualifications.
Learners who regularly attended our D6 Saturday study sessions achieved a progress score of +1.34, more than a grade higher across all subjects than learners from the same starting points across the country.
Destination measures have been impressive over many years at Ladybridge, with a higher proportion of young people in education or employment after leaving school than the national average.
Key points to note about our results include:
- Young people achieve higher grades than you would expect them to based on their academic starting points – demonstrated by the high progress scores.
- Attainment figures are around national averages despite all cohorts having significantly higher numbers of disadvantaged learners than the national average.

A8 or Attainment 8 is a nationally recognised measure. It is the average total points score of each learner’s best 8 subjects, with Maths and English being counted double.
The average points is the average point score for learners across all qualifications on the Grade 1-9 scale.
*Progress 8 score based on CATs data not primary school SATs, due to the pandemic.
