Year 9 learners are once again taking part in this year’s Schools Linking Network art project, a national initiative involving approximately 24,000 young people acrorss the UK. With funding from various organisations including Bolton ACIS and the Holocaust Education Trust, we are working with Holocaust Education artist Caroline Slifkin and Bolton School (Boys Division) to explore the theme “Who Am I?”, investigating our individual and collective identities and developing artwork that communicates our ideas about identity.

An excellent second session last week with our Year 9 learners and visiting students from Bolton School, continuing their ‘Who Am I?’ schools linking art project with Caroline Slifkin

A wonderful celebration of the artwork produced by Year 9 learners and partner schools Bolton School, Smithills School and Harper Green School was hosted by Bolton School Boys’ Division today. The creativity and talent displayed in each piece of artwork produced lots of beautiful and thoughtful designs, expressing each learners’ individuality in a variety of materials and reflecting the theme of ‘identity’. Learners eloquently articulated the symbolism in their self-portraits to the groups with confidence. Well done to all involved!
