Year 8 learners had an amazing day at their ‘España Sin Pasaporte’ MFL event at Bury Met Theatre. They worked with Year 8 Spanish learners from other schools in Greater Manchester to practise their Spanish and experience life in our own Spanish village. They visited ‘el banco’ to collect some Euros and ‘la librería’ to read some Spanish books and stories, and also took part in a Story Writing Competition.
We also hosted activities in our own ‘Oficina de Correos’ and ‘Agencia de Viajes’ where visitors were able to write and send a postcard from the event. Everyone worked up an appetite in a Flamenco workshop before enjoying some traditional Spanish lunch in ‘la cafetería’.
Ladybridge swept the board in the Story Writing Competition, with Eira and Mishti winning the prizes for Best Short Story and Best Poem and receiving a Spanish novel as a prize! The learners represented the school wonderfully and showed real curiosity and teamwork throughout. Well done!
Thankyou to the Comino Foundation for providing another wonderful experience for our learners.
