Lead Practitioner in Real World Learning

This is a unique opportunity to become a Lead Practitioner in Real World Learning at Ladybridge High School.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and effective teacher of Computing, Creative iMedia or Enterprise who is also interested in connecting learning to the real world and developing their leadership skills at a whole school level.  We want to further increase the amount of Real World Learning happening at Ladybridge and developing our learners’ agency and enterprise skills is part of this.  The successful candidate will work with other departments to build opportunities for Real World Learning and Project Based Learning into their curriculum.

Ladybridge High School is a happy and successful school with a clear mission and agreed beliefs that are shared across the school community. We are focused on achieving strong academic outcomes through a rounded education that prepares our learners for life. We are committed to our ‘Trivium’ approach to education, which is summarised on our website here.

The wonderfully diverse population of learners, the emphasis on professional learning for staff and the friendly atmosphere make Ladybridge an interesting and enjoyable place to work. We aspire to be an ‘evidence-informed’ school where teachers are encouraged to read, research, collaborate and take calculated risks in the classroom.

All teaching staff at Ladybridge have a generous allocation of non-contact time: typically 20%, which is double the legal minimum requirement. This ensures that our staff have the time to carry out their role to the highest possible standard, whilst having a genuine work-life balance.

BTEC Enterprise and Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia are relatively new qualifications offered at Ladybridge.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and effective teacher of either of these subjects who is also interested in developing their leadership skills at a whole school level.  We want to further increase the amount of Real World Learning happening at Ladybridge and developing our learners’ agency and enterprise skills is part of this.  The successful candidate will work with other departments to build opportunities for Real World Learning and Project Based Learning into their curriculum.
