This term saw the completion of our Year 8 Blue Zones Project, exploring the question: ‘Can Bolton become a Blue Zone?‘
As part of the project, learners explored the key factors that contribute to healthier communities, including physical activity, nutrition and social connection.
The project concluded with a visit to Bolton Arena for a bespoke Fitness Testing Day, where learners completed professional-standard physical assessments and developed a greater understanding of their own health and fitness.

Each learner also created a personal health pledge, committing to one positive lifestyle change. Our pledge plaque is now proudly displayed in our Quad wellbeing space, providing a daily reminder of the connection between setting goals and taking action.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Battersby and Mrs O’Connor for their fantastic contribution to Sport and Health this year. We wish them both our very best wishes as they begin their maternity leave next academic year and look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
We are also delighted to welcome Miss Fletcher and Miss Pratten to the team and wish them every success as they join Ladybridge and continue to support our learners.
We would also like to say a special thank you to Mrs Alder, who leaves us this summer after many years of dedicated service as our Swimming Instructor. Mrs Allen has already started her role as Swimming Instructor during this summer term working with our local primary schools.
Thank you for your continued support in encouraging learners to participate, represent the school and achieve their best. We regularly share updates, photographs and achievements through the school website and social media, so please continue to follow our sporting journey.
Wishing all our families a restful and enjoyable Summer break.
