Personal Development is an important and valued aspect of the school day and provides learners the opportunity to connect with their Families, develop their life skills and prepare them to be ‘Ladybridge Rich’. Here’s a reminder of the sessions which take place during Personal Development:

Forms are continuing to lead on their community projects this term and some incredible learner-led Community Meetings have taken place, with learners gaining in confidence and public speaking as they describe their chosen projects to their families. Some of the projects have included Tau 2, who continues their work for Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter and created a gallery walk for their family to learn more about the shelter and how to support them:

Simba 7 also led an excellent community meeting on Chinese Language Day and engaged their family in creating Hanzi – the logographic characters used in Chinese writing:

Here is a summary of what our learners said they liked best about Ladybridge!
| Diversity and Inclusive Culture | Many learners described the school as kind, welcoming and community-focused. |
| Opportunities and Experiences | Learners also appreciate the variety of GCSE options, including subjects not offered at many schools. |
| Facilities | This includes the Farm, the Sports facilities and access to IT. |
| Clubs, Sports and Extracurricular Activities | Many learners feel the school provides more opportunities than other schools. |
| Teachers and Support | Learners mentioned that they valued strong pastoral support systems and help with careers and futures planning. |
| Flexible School Culture | in terms of uniform and early finishes on a Tuesday! |
For Summer term, an inter-form Boules tournament has taken place during WISDOM sessions in Personal Development time. This has helped learners develop teamwork skills as they have worked hard together to beat the other forms. They have also shown resilience in trying a new skill!
