School Council

At Ladybridge High School we feel very strongly about the importance of our Student Voice. The Year and School Councils have been designed to involve all students in the decision making process. The Student Councillors are voted for by their peers and meet on a half termly basis to discuss their ideas and concerns. Information discussed is cascaded throughout the school in a number of ways. These include: a meeting with the Senior Leadership Team and our Head Boy and Head Girl; notes and action points which are posted on the School Council notice board and the TV screens around school; and through feedback given to all students during their Learnacy lessons following a meeting by their Council Representatives.

Through the contributions of the Year Councils and the School Council, we have made changes to the school uniform, provided additional lockers, refurbished the toilets and made changes to the canteen by offering a more varied selection of healthier food. Discussions surrounding student progress also take place, to make sure we can continue to provide the best teaching and learning opportunities possible for our students.

Mrs K Halliwell runs the School Council.
