Investors in People Re-designation

In November 2008 we were re-designated as an ‘Investors in People’ school because of our fundamental belief in the view that people matter and that their talents, skills, abilities and personal qualities must always be celebrated.  We have now been recommended to apply for the higher level award because we have more than exceeded the national expectations.  According to the report:

‘All staff believe that the School has a very clear and well supported vision which is motivational, gives everyone a well defined sense of purpose and a pride in working for the School. Significant improvements in the School’s results are seen as a direct outcome of these changes…Staff confirmed that the school is effective in leading, managing and developing people through:

 

• Leading by example
• Providing clear objectives and guidance where necessary
• Developing effective communications
• Involving everyone in the decision making process
• Empowering staff in their areas of work
• Providing appropriate mentoring
• Providing effective and constructive feedback
