In September 2004 Rivington and Blackrod High School and Ladybridge High School formed a unique Partnership - two schools, each with their own traditions and communities but with a common purpose. Rivington and Blackrod High School is a Church of England controlled 11-18 High School founded in 1566 by James Pilkington, Bishop of Durham. Ladybridge High School was created as a new 11-16 school in partnership with Rivington and Blackrod High School. This partnership, governed by one joint body, is the largest school community in the United Kingdom with 2,700 learners and nearly 300 staff. It has a mission to promote a complete education for learners that will equip them with qualifiactions, skills, values and flexibility.
At Ladybridge High School, we aim to give our learners the very best opportunities to develop to their maximum potential and enable them to become exceptional community citizens. Good, positive relationships are vitally important providing each other with the support that will lead to each and every individual who attends our school achieving their own personal success. Partnerships with others enable us to demonstrate just how much we can give to our community and provide us with chances that we may not otherwise be able to provide for our learners.
