Primary Engagement

A successful school does not operate in isolation but works as an effective partnership between staff, parents, learners and the community. Over several years we have forged strong partnerships with our local feeder primary schools, offering a wide range of extra-curricular enrichment activities to their students.

We offer primary schools the opportunity to utilise our extensive facilities, including our sports centre, swimming pool and our community farm. We look at national curriculum topics for Key Stage 2 and 3 and tailor individual sessions to complement their class-based lessons.

This is what some of our primary schools had to say:

This was the trip they were looking forward to the most and they had a fantastic time.’

The staff were lovely with the children, allowing them to explore, showing them what to do and answering all their questions.’

We are continuing to develop a programme of after school extra-curricular enrichment activities to offer primary learners the opportunity to take part in the sessions either here at Ladybridge. These sessions build confidence and allow primary learners to experience a high school setting and meet members of staff and learners. We have baked, written magical stories, skated, trampolined, boxed, swam, created mosaics, debated, carried out a CSI science topic, learnt Spanish, fed the farm animals, been eco-warriors and much, much more.

We deliver extra transition packages for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities or for those who may struggle to settle into secondary school or simply need a little more re-assurance. We closely liaise with their teachers and parents to make the transition process as comfortable as possible.

No one knows your child better than you and we encourage conversation between everyone involved to work together and ensure we have all the relevant information we need to enable your child to settle and do well from the very first day they start with us on their academic journey.
